It is ECO3's "XM" - Cross Modulation screening technology for sheetfed offset, web offset, newspaper, book, packaging and flexo printing. Presenting an "Intelligent" screening with in the mid-tones "Amplitude Modulated" screening and in the highlights and shadows a "Frequency Modulated" way of screening."XM" stands for Cross Modulation or "smooth crossing over" from one technology to the other.
Cross Modulation screening technology is ECO3 patented screening technology and contains the best of both worlds: ABS (Apogee Balanced Screening) for a smooth rendering of mid-tones and flat tints, and FM with the wonderful characteristic that it renders very fine details from 1 to 99% on paper. On each Apogee Prepress system, Sublima 200 lpi is standard available for the user, and on the ECO3 selected systems a Sublima for ECO3 CTP license adds potential to 240 lpi, 280 lpi and 340 lpi.
